
Dr. Nathaniel Reisinger grew up in Houston, Texas. He received dual bachelor’s degrees from the University of Houston, graduating magna cum laude, and earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Columbia University and fellowships in Nephrology and Clinical Ultrasound at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Reisinger served on faculty at the University of Pennsylvania from 2020–2025, where he developed national expertise in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in nephrology. He directed multiple educational programs and workshops integrating ultrasound into nephrology practice and training at major national meetings such as the National Kidney Foundation Spring Clinical Meeting, KIDNEYcon, and the American Society of Nephrology’s Kidney Week. His academic work includes numerous invited lectureships, reviews, and textbook chapters on POCUS and nephrology education, and he serves as Associate Editor for The POCUS Journal.
Dr. Reisinger is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and is a Fellow of both the American Society of Nephrology (FASN) and the National Kidney Foundation (FNKF). He currently practices with Saint Louis Kidney Consultants and maintains an appointment as Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he continues to teach nephrology fellows and contribute to fellowship education. His clinical interests include acute kidney injury, glomerular diseases, home dialysis, kidney stones, hypertension, and the application of ultrasound in kidney disease.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Reisinger enjoys cooking, board games, espresso brewing, and travel. He and his wife—a native St. Louisan—returned to St. Louis to raise their growing family.
